  3. Notes on LORVAD(R)  (formerly Printers Devil) fonts:
  4.      OxNard is an outline shadow font with irregular sizing 
  5. and erratic baselines. As a display font it works at 25 pts 
  6. or larger.  Sizes above 50 pts are preferable. Caps only. 
  7. Not kerned.  ShareWare $10
  8.      DownWind is a semi psychedelic calligraphic font.  
  9. Works at 20 pts or larger.  Nice for posters.  Contains 
  10. upper & lower case and numbers.  Not kerned.  ShareWare $10
  11.      BellBottom is a display font evocative of '60's poster 
  12. art.  Try it at 24 points or larger.  Looks best at 40 pts 
  13. or larger. Contains upper & lower case, numbers and a few 
  14. special characters. Not kerned.Shareware $10.
  15.      Medusa is based on the familiar Art Nouveau font 
  16. Broklin. It's a display font that looks great at 12 points 
  17. or larger. About 170 characters and 100 kerning pairs are 
  18. defined. ShareWare $10
  19.      LoopDeLoop is a fun display font.  Its uppercase 
  20. characters are based on the font Bee Line. They have a 
  21. stroked effect simulating a continuous line, looped to 
  22. create each character.  The lowercase characters are a 
  23. solid variation on the shape of the uppercase.  This set 
  24. contains only about sixty characters. There is minimal 
  25. kerning. Looks nice as an opening decorative capital.  
  26. Shareware $10.
  27.      Albatross is a text body font with a moderately short 
  28. x-height.  The relative point size is a bit small (i.e. 14 
  29. point is closer to what most people would consider 12 
  30. point).  It contains all the regular characters and many 
  31. special characters.  Shareware $10.
  32.      Judas is a display font patterned on Adobe wood type 
  33. Ironwood.  It contains only caps, numbers, and a few 
  34. special characters.  It seems to look best at 16 points or 
  35. larger.  Very interesting negative space  It is 
  36. shareware-$10 (or thirty silver dollars if you want us to 
  37. feel guilty).
  38.      LORVAD fonts include: Bodidly Bold, Oswald Black, 
  39. Oswald Grey, BlackForest, InkaBod, CartWright, Judas, 
  40. Albatross, LoopDeLoop, Medusa, BellBottom, DownWind and 
  41. OxNard. 
  42.      These fonts are NOT demos.  Unless noted they contain 
  43. all the regular alphanumeric characters. Most contain an 
  44. assortment of special characters.  Fonts contain 
  45. ``hinting''; usually over one hundred kerning pairs are 
  46. defined. AFM files are included for kerned fonts.  Bodidly 
  47. Bold, Oswald Black, Blackforest, Inkabod, CartWright, 
  48. Judas, Albatross, LoopDeLoop, Medusa, Bellbottom, DownWind, 
  49. and Oxnard are type 1 PostScript fonts and may also be used 
  50. with ATM on non-PostScript printers. Oswald Grey, a type 3 
  51. font, may only be used on PostScript printers.  It has an 
  52. 80% grey fill with a black border.  
  53.      Bodidly Bold and Oswald Black look great in small or 
  54. large sizes.  I'd recommend using Oswald Grey at 24 points 
  55. or larger.
  56.      BlackForest and Inkabod are designed without any 
  57. curves.  With one or two exceptions all angles are 
  58. multiples of 45 degrees.  BlackForest has an old world 
  59. German feel.  It seems to look best about 24 points.  
  60. InkaBod is based on the bitmapped font Nordic. On the 
  61. LaserWriter it looks great at 14 points and above.  On the 
  62. ImageWriter, try it at 18 points and larger.
  63.      CartWright is inspired by the Adobe wood type 
  64. Ponderosa font.  It contains only the basic 90+ characters.
  65.      The bitmap screenfonts are just your basic 
  66. Fontographer-generated characters with minimal touchup.  
  67. With ATM on the market I'd rather spend my time polishing 
  68. up the PostScript file than slaving over an archaic bitmap 
  69. screenfont.
  70.      LORVAD(R) fonts are distributed in the spirit of 
  71. shareware.  Try them out for a month.  If you decide to 
  72. keep any of these fonts you are required to send a $10 per 
  73. font registration fee to:

  78. you found them.  Maryland residents should include 5% sales 
  79. tax.

  81.      These products may be distributed freely as long as 
  82. the following conditions are met: The files may not be 
  83. modified and this notice must be included with each font or 
  84. group of LORVAD(R) fonts; Fonts may be included on 
  85. collections of Public Domain and Shareware disks providing 
  86. that no more than $10 is charged for the disk.  
  87. Distribution by electronic BBS is allowed.

  89.      If you paid for a disk with any of these fonts you are 
  90. still required to send in your registration fee if you 
  91. decide to keep them.

  93. The Bottom Line:  We will continue to release laser fonts 
  94. in a non-crippled format as long as there is a fair 
  95. response to the registration fee.
